How to Install Android L Preview Keyboard on Any Rooted Android! - Page 2

Step 15. Next copy the file “libjni_latinimegoogle.so”.

Step 16. Next, browse to /system/lib folder and hit the Paste button.

Step 17. Select the file “libjni_latinimegoogle.so” then hit “More”.

Step 18. Choose “Properties”.

Step 19. Hit “Change” button next to Permissions.

Step 20. Change the permission to Owner, Group, Other as shown below.

Step 21. Next go into Settings->Language and input on your phone/tablet.  Make sure Google Keyboard is checked ON and change your default keyboard to Google Keyboard.  Then hit the Settings icon/button.

Step 22. Hit “Advanced Settings”.

Step 23. Change “Color scheme” to “Material”.

Step 24. Now open up your browser and enjoy Android L Preview keyboard on your Android smartphone/tablet.  Don’t forget to share this with your friends! 🙂

      go to play marked look for “android L keyboard”

        I had the same problem, come to find out i have the default settings on Samsung Keyboard.
        Go to Settings>language and Input>Keyboards and input methods>change defaults to>Google Keyboard.

    I downloaded the file and when I click on it and try open it with Es zip viewer it says bad zip file., any ideas why.? Thank you.

    Followed 2 the letter. But, immediately after install I started getting,” google keyboard stopped working”. I was unable to use back button on bottom of phone & had 2 constantly reboot phone 2 use once. As far as c & p of libjni file. I was unable 2 bring up option 2 copy. I tried 2 reinstall gapps pkg from wen I installed Mahdi Rom but still no luck…same lock up. Guess I’ll have 2 do a factory reset & install all over again. 🙁 Running Sprint L720 or S$.

      I had the same problem on Sprint Note 2. Watch the video and do not install the keyboard first, instead follow the part where you change the settings and after you have modified your settings then install the keyboard. When I did it this way it worked for me. Hope this helps.

    Hey thanks for all the great stuff on this site. I have Rooted my T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 and Installed the BeanStalk ROM and Gapps. Phone is working great! Much faster than with stock system. I cannot get the Android L keyboard apk to install. I get an Parsing error at step 8. Has anyone actually installed this apk successfully on an SG S2?

    Rooted my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SGH T989 running AOKP rom Kit Kat 4.4.4.

    I followed all the steps, I must say thank you for makeING them so easy to follow. But my issue is, when I go to Language and Input settings and tick Google Keyboard, the tick disappears right after so I can’t make it my default keyboard.
