Nexus 6P vs. iPhone 6S Plus!

nexus6p-vs-iphone6splus

Today, we will take a quick comparison between the Nexus 6P and Apple’s new iPhone 6S Plus.

Nexus 6P and iPhone 6S Plus both feature metal unibody design, I would say design is both great on its own right but the Nexus 6P is a bit lighter with a larger screen size.

Nexus 6P comes with a 5.7-inch 1440P AMOLED screen with 518 PPI while the iPhone 6S Plus comes with 5.5-inch 1080P IPS LCD screen with 401 PPI. The Nexus 6P kills iPhone 6S Plus in screen resolution and for viewing latest 4K videos on YouTube or playing back 4K videos, the Nexus 6P will come real handy as it can replay both YouTube and 4K videos in full 1440P. If you tend to watch a lot of videos, Nexus 6P is definitely the winner here.

For processor, the Nexus 6P comes with latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor while the iPhone 6S Plus comes with Apple’s own A9 chip. The Snapdragon 810 scores around 56K on Antutu while 6S Plus scores around 58K. At least on paper, both phones are nearly same so we will call this a tie.

The Nexus 6P comes with a 12.3MP camera with 1.55 micron sensor while iPhone 6S Plus comes 12MP camera with 1.22 micron sensor. The lens aperture is F2.0 on the 6P while the iPhone 6S has F2.2. The Nexus 6P has larger sensor size and a wider aperture which will result in much sharper photos and better photos in low-light. For videos, both phones do full 4K and both are capable of 240fps slow-motion. Nexus 6P has much better overall camera and wins in camera category.

The iPhone 6S Plus has 3D Touch, which is sensitive touchscreen with ability to measure your hand’s force on the screen. This feature may be very useful for navigating on the iPhone while Nexus 6P simply doesn’t have it.

For storage, iPhone 6S Plus offers 16/64/128GB while Nexus 6P offers 32/64/128GB. Nexus 6P definitely wins in storage option since the base model has much usable storage of 32GB plus the much lower starting price of $499 versus $749.

For speakers, Nexus 6P offers full stereo dual speakers on front while iPhone 6S has speakers on bottom. Nexus 6P wins with better speakers along with stereo sound in landscape mode.

For battery, Nexus 6P comes with 3450mAh battery while iPhone 6S Plus comes with just 2750mAh. The Nexus 6P wins again for bigger battery, gives you more juice and also charges twice faster than the 6S Plus.

Nexus 6P also features world’s fastest fingerprint sensor located on the back of the phone while iPhone 6S Plus has it on the center home button. Nexus 6P definitely wins again for better fingerprint sensor. Both phones offer mobile payment through NFC called Android Pay or Apple Pay. I would say they are equal since most credit card readers supporting Android Pay supports Apple Pay and vice versa.

Overall, the Nexus 6P certainly is impressive in what it has to offer for just $499 for its base model while the iPhone 6S Plus starts at $749. The Nexus 6P whops ass over the iPhone 6S Plus as it has better display, better camera, better fingerprint sensor, better speakers, and most importantly, costs $250 less. If you love Apple iOS and locked down to it, you may have no option but to go with the iPhone 6S Plus but if you are high on Android like myself, the choice is obvious, ain’t it?

Don’t forget the thumbs up for me if you enjoyed my quick comparison and as always stay HIGH on Android!
