Check out Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus cases from Spigen. These are the latest cases for the Samsung flagship and depending on your needs, one of them could suit you. I find the clear cases much more stickier and less prone to dropping while the smooth-surfaced cases have very soft feel, very therapeutic. And if you tend to drop your phone often, check out Spigen’s thicker cases which will prevent you from cracking your brand new S9 or S9 Plus.

If you are still using an sprinkler controller that is not internet enabled, it may be a great time to upgrade it to the latest Orbit B-Hyve WiFi-enabled sprinkler controller. Over the weekend, I upgraded my mom’s sprinkler controller to the Orbit B-Hyve and now her sprinklers can be controlled from anywhere in the world there is internet. Setup took me about 20 minutes, it was really easy as you simply mount the control unit on the wall and re-connect all the wires from your sprinkler.
If you have ordered your Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, you may want to consider getting cases BEFORE you get your phone and save a bunch of money by buying them online (as you will end up paying twice more at a retail store). Plus, the best S9/S9+ cases are usually found online. For this video overview, Ringke sent me all of their latest cases for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Amazingly, the cases fit perfectly on my Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus as they have exact same outer dimensions as the S9/S9 Plus. Of course, the only real changes this year is the new fingerprint sensor position and you may be able to re-use your older S8/S8+ cases by cutting a hole.
About a month ago, I installed a new wireless mesh system using Linksys Velop. Well, I also installed Google Mesh WiFi over at my parent’s house and was surprised by faster setup and very good signals in a house that’s twice bigger than mine. Although Linksys Velop has been working pretty well, I’ve had some issues where it slows down to a crawl at times even though my speed tests are very fast(near 100Mbps).
Looking for the BEST wireless security cameras of 2018? Well, check out my new Reolink cameras that do 5Ghz along with 1440P resolution, also price is much cheaper than name brand ones from companies like Nest. Also, setup is really easy, no need to mess with your router, just use the ReoLink app and sets everything up for you so you can monitor your home in the highest resolution possible from anywhere around the world. Forget 720P of 1080P, if you want to actually CATCH burglars, you need the highest resolution possible, these cameras all do higher resolution than any other name-brand wireless security cameras on the market today. I upgrade my security cameras every 6 months so this is the best I could get at the moment. As soon as 4K cameras are out I will be upgrading to that also.
Recently, I got tired of having so much clutter on my bedside table as I had multiple Quick Charge 3.0 adapters charging multiple devices including several of my phones, my daughter’s phone, tablet(Galaxy Tab S2), and my new Amazon Kindle Oasis.
Recently, I gave away one of my Tqka 10,000mAh Power Bank to my brother-in-law since he didn’t have a power bank and didn’t own a quick charge power bank. Well, I did some research into the best portable & slim USB Power Banks with Quick Charge 3.0 support and found these awesome 2 power banks, the Crave Plus and Amlik.
Chromecast has been probably one of the most innovative devices that allows you to easily “cast” online videos such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc…etc… Now, one of the missing features of Chromecast is that it cannot by itself stream movies on your phone. Also, if you want to stream 4K movies, that’s even near impossible to do.
On Black Friday a 2 days ago, I was visiting BestBuy(You can see my VLOG here) where BestBuy’s storefront featured a giant ad for their new Google Home Mini. Google is really trying to get Google Home Mini to the masses and at current sale prices of $29 plus $10 gift card, this is probably the best deal for Cyber Monday. But, is Google Home Mini worth it?
Lumion Galaxy Note 8 Case “Guardian” is a slim 2-layer case with matte back that is going to give you optimal balance between comfort and protection. This is my #1 pick and I like it because it’s not too bulky with non-fingerprint-magnet matte back and the screen lip is high enough to protect front-facing screen drops.
Spigen sent me some Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL cases, here’s a quick review.
Spigen Liquid Crystal Case has been my all-time favorite for many phones and I love the transparency of the case so I can see through yet it is not bulky and has good lip for protecting the screen.
For those of you who need extra battery for your Samsung Galaxy Note 8, you may want to consider a battery case like ZeroLemon SlimPower, which comes with 5500mAh capacity, enough to recharge your Note 8 about 1.5 times. The ZeroLemon SlimPower is rather thick and bulky, this isn’t for everyone but for those who absolutely need extra 1-2 days of battery life.
With purchase of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, SamsungPromotions.com offers a Samsung 360 4K camera or Samsung Wireless Charging Convertible plus 128GB EvoPlus microSD card. Since I got the 360 camera already(for free from attending the Galaxy S8 launch event earlier this year), I opted to go with the latter.
In this video, I review the Chamberlain Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, which I replaced my 50-year old dying garage door opener and also made my garage “smart”. Now I can open and close my garage door from anywhere in the world with an Android app! And yes, if you forget to close your garage door, you can even have it automatically close!
