New Chromecast 2nd Gen Unboxing! [2015]

Google has released Chromecast 2nd generation yesterday and I was able to receive it today.  The new Chromecast 2nd gen features a completely new look with Chrome logo on a circle shape with a short HDMI cable that’s also magnetic.

The biggest change with this year’s Chromecast is support for dual-band 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz with 802.11AC.  For those of you with a 5Ghz router with 802.11AC, now you will be able to stream many times faster.  There’s also new feature like “Fast Play” that will reduce loading times up to 80%.

I personally use 3 Chromecast on 3 TVs I have in my house and the upgrade is certainly going to make streaming even faster.  For those of you who mirror your smartphone or computer to the TV, support for 5Ghz and 802.11AC means less lag.

We will be doing full comparison to the original Chromecast and review this new bad boy but in the meanwhile, you can grab one yourself over at Google Play Store.
