How to Install Custom ROM on OnePlus 6!

OnePlus 6 custom ROMs do require certain steps different from normal Android smartphones, especially on Android 9.0 Pie ROMs.  In this video tutorial I outline the following steps to ensure your custom ROM boots and also camera/sound works flawless.  This is one of the “quirks” of installing ROMs on the OnePlus 6 but with this method you will be able to install ROMs and make them work flawless.

Download all the files you need here. (This is for Syberia ROM but process is identical for all custom ROMs so use another ROM instead of Syberia ROM but everything else is same.)

Before installation, you will need to unlock the bootloader & root your OnePlus 6.

Do those before following the steps.

Step 1. Boot into TWRP.

Step 2. Install latest Oxygen OS factory firmware.

Step 3. Wipe Dalvik Cache.

Step 4. Install your custom ROM then reboot.

Step 5. Once ROM boots, use fastboot and your computer to reboot into TWRP.

e.g. fastboot boot twrpimagename.img

Step 6. Install Gapps, Magisk, and TWRP installer(which will give you permanent TWRP).

Step 7. Reboot and enjoy!

If missing Magisk, reboot into TWRP and install it one more time.

A normal TWRP install will result in your video camera not working correctly, sound being too low, network not working, and other things.

Please follow along the video tutorial if you do not know how to do this.
