How to Install and ROOT Oxygen OS ROM on OnePlus One!

For those of you who want to install the new Oxygen OS on the OnePlus One Android smartphone, you will first need to root your phone.

To root your OnePlus One, follow our guide on How to Root OnePlus One first then come back to this tutorial.

To install the Oxygen OS ROM, simply download the ROM and use TWRP to install the ROM as shown in our video tutorial.  This is actually identical to our TWRP fail-proof installation guide.

For rooting Oxygen OS ROM, simply download SuperSU zip file and install with TWRP as shown in the video tutorial.

Although this is the first version of Oxygen OS ROM, honestly it is a bit disappointing as you will lose many of your OnePlus One original features like 4K video recording, no AudioFX app, and lockscreen/themes.  On top of that, you get Android 5.0.2, which is old already.

I think there’s a ton more better custom ROMs out there right now and the Oxygen OS ROM doesn’t live up to hype.  Heck, I was already running CM12.1 with Android 5.1 since 2 weeks ago, that’s probably a better way to go as you can also get 4K recording, AudioFX app, and OnePlus One theme (for theme, flash our OnePlus One conversion kit in TWRP.)
