Galaxy S8 & S8+ Official Specs Based on Leaks!

So, I have deduced the final Galaxy S8 & S8+ official specs based on confirmed leaks.

What we know so far that’s 99% true:

Galaxy S8 & S8+ will both have 18:9 or 18.5:9 aspect ratio.  Resolution can be 2880×1440 or 2960×1440.  There is a slight chance that 4K display comes with the phone perhaps later this year as another model for VR.  But Chinese users who have actually tried the S8 and S8+ are saying resolution is definitely not 4K.  The S8 & S8+ will have extra button in addition to volume buttons and power key.  This is definitely a mysterious button that I hope has cool functionality.  UPDATE: The extra button we presume is for the new AI (Artificial Intelligence) feature, thx Leonard Holley for the tip!

For security, there will be a fingerprint sensor located on the back right next to the camera, which could either be fingerprint magnet for the back camera or could work out.  I will definitely have to try it out myself but the fingerprint sensor is rectangular in shape, meaning it should have some “swipe” features like we have seen with recent Huawei devices.  Also, there may be a fingerprint sensor embedded into the soft button on front, this is a rumor that has not been confirmed but we shall see.   And yes, IR blaster is not included while IRIS scanner will definitely be on it.

Back camera will be a F1.7 12MP camera, which hasn’t been 100% confirmed but based on Samsung’s history the camera performance should be 10-20% better especially in low-light.  I am really hoping for an aperture of F1.4 but we will see if that can happen or not.  But one thing for sure, we will get a better/faster lens, bigger sensor, and/or better processing.  There is a good chance 4K 60fps will be also on-board along with 960fps slow-motion as we saw with Xperia XZ.

The bottom of the phone includes a speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C w/ QC 3.0.  There is 2 microphones, 1 on top and bottom just like previous Galaxy devices.

As for processor, you will get Snapdragon 835 for U.S. and certain international markets while Korean model and others will get Exynos 8895.

We should have full specs once the phone has been unveiled at NYC later this month on March 29th but for now, we are pretty sure what the phone will be like.

What do you think of the official specs confirmed so far?  If you have any more concrete evidence, please feel free to send them to me at zedomax [at] gmail dot com and I will update this post, thanks!
