Galaxy S6 Edge vs. HTC One M9 4K UHD Video Comparison!

So you want the best smartphone in the world with the best 4K UHD?

Well, even if you didn’t want the best 4K recording, we are here to shed some light on the 4K UHD video recording performance between the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge and the HTC One M9.  (FYI, both the S6 and S6 Edge have same camera.)

While I expected at least some decent video recordings with my shiny, new brand HTC One M9, it didn’t work out too well.  In fact, the results are so bad with videos in general, I have hard time believing that this is even a real HTC One M9.  But I did order straight from HTC.com so it must be real.

In my initial tests with the HTC One M9, maybe I forgot to switch on video stabilization in settings.  Well, there is none and worse, the camera on the HTC One M9 tends to over-exposure like every half a second (as you can see in my video comparison).

In comparison, the Galaxy S6 Edge 4K showed what a 2015 flagship smartphone should look like.  The S6 Edge also does have some issues where the footage gets a bit bubbly when it shakes too much, a side effect of OIS.  But it’s nowhere like the super-shaky videos that the M9 takes.   The M9 is so bad even indoors in controlled environment, the camera picks up even the smallest shakes.

I hope HTC fixes this but in the meanwhile, I really think even M8 or M7 both have better cameras than the M9.
