How to Fix Nexus 6 Firmware Error! – “could not allocate 1778070480 bytes”

could not allocate 1778070480 bytes

Are you getting “could not allocate 1778070480 bytes” while flashing the latest Android 5.1 firmware or other versions?

That’s because the latest Android 5.1 firmware comes with system image that’s too big for regular fastboot to handle.

To fix this, simply download mfastboot.zip, unzip and put the files in the fastboot folder. then replace the lines in our update guide to:

For Widows:
mfastboot flash system system.img

For Mac OSX:

./mfastboot-mac flash system system.img

For Linux/Ubuntu:
sudo ./mfastboot-linux flash system system.img
