How to Install Android 8.0 Oreo on Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P/5X! [Video Tutorial]

In this video I show you how to install the latest and greatest Android 8.0 Oreo on your Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, or 5X.  Google will push out Android 8.0 Oreo update via OTA(over-the-air) eventually but if you are too impatient to wait or you are on a rooted phone with custom ROM, you can manually install it using Google factory images.

You can use Windows, Mac, or Linux to install.

Files to download:

Download factory image for your Google device

Download fastboot.zip

Download drivers for Windows (no drivers needed for Mac/Linux)

Commands to type for Windows:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-XXX.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-XXX.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-XXX.zip

Commands to type for Mac:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
chmod 755 *
./fastboot-mac flash bootloader bootloader-XXX.img
./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader
./fastboot-mac flash radio radio-XXX.img
./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader
./fastboot-mac -w update image-XXX.zip

Commands to type for Linux/Ubuntu:
cd Downloads
cd fastboot
chmod 755 *
sudo ./fastboot-linux flash bootloader bootloader-XXX.img
sudo ./fastboot-linux reboot-bootloader
sudo ./fastboot-linux flash radio radio-XXX.img
sudo ./fastboot-linux reboot-bootloader
sudo ./fastboot-linux -w update image-XXX.zip

*NOTE – Make sure to replace the bootloader, radio, and image file names with the ones you download.
