New Nexus 7 Unboxing and Initial Review! (2013)

Google has finally launched a brand, “new” Nexus 7 for year 2013, a nice upgrade from the original Nexus 7 from last year.

The New Nexus 7 ships with 7-inch full 1080P IPS screen (1920×1200 pixels) which packs a ton more power than last year with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5Ghz processor (same one found on Nexus 4), 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 5 megapixel back camera, 1.2 megapixel fron camera, dual-band wifi 2.4Ghz/5Ghz, android 4.3, and comes in 16GB or 32GB.

As for size, the New Nexus 7 weighs just 0.64 pounds(or 290 grams) with dimension of 114x200x8.65mm. It is lighter, longer, and slightly narrower than the original Nexus 7.

The biggest change is the new 1080P screen along with a 1080P back camera (which didn’t exist before) while memory has been upgraded from 1GB to 2GB along with a much faster Qualcomm S4 Pro 1.5Ghz quad-core processor.

Also, New Nexus 7 ships with latest Android 4.3 (although the original also now has Android 4.3).

Overall, the New Nexus 7 is probably the best deal for a mini tablet (7 to 8-inch) on the market for year 2013 at just $229 USD for the 16GB model. I am very impressed with the New Nexus 7 and if you are looking for the best mini tablet, you can’t go wrong with the New Nexus 7.
