4G LTE Advanced Speed Test in Thailand!

While most of us in the U.S. are still stuck in ice ages with regular 4G LTE, I found out that through my recent travel to Thailand that they already have 4G LTE Advanced (or 4G LTE+) with coverage pretty much all over the country.  I have tried 4G LTE Advanced a few years back in South Korea where it is also widely spread but it was rather surprise to see it in Thailand as they didn’t even have 4G LTE for the last 4 years I have visited the country.

As for U.S., my theory is that the U.S. carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon are slow to roll out new technologies such as 4G LTE Advanced as they are already milking the cow(the consumers) with outdated technology.  We are already paying outrageous 4G LTE prices(unless you are on unlimited plan) while Thailand offers 4GB of LTE Advanced for just 399 Baht (or $11.34 USD).  Plus, consider that Thailand is probably not the most tech-savvy country in the world with GDP 17-18 times less than the U.S.   Not only that, you can also get Gigabit Fiber Optics internet in Thailand pretty much everywhere already while we are still struggling to get it in most of the U.S.

I love traveling and also testing out different networks in other countries and boy, Thailand now has one of the fastest networks in the world.

Currently, TrueMove and AIS are the two networks in Thailand that offer 4G+.  For those of you traveling to Thailand, simply visit the local 7-11 shop to grab a 4G+ prepaid SIM card by showing your Passport.  Make sure you grab 4G+ SIM as there are also different types of prepaid SIM cards.
