How to Use a Galaxy Note 7 Without Blowing Up! [ROM of the Week #1]

For those of you who want to keep enjoying the Galaxy Note 7 but failed to because Samsung has recalled them, you can still enjoy every software feature of the Galaxy Note 7 by converting a Note 5 into Galaxy Note 7 by installing a custom ROM.  I know many people still want to keep using a 5.7-inch Samsung device and the Galaxy Note 5 is still a great candidate with an S-Pen and camera that still beats many of new smartphones that came out this year.  Best of all, you will be able to enjoy all Note 7’s S-Pen features including animated GIFs using Smart Select, off-screen memos, and even full Note 7 camera app (everything works except panorama).   And yes, even AOD(Always-On-Display) works!

You can do all of this simply by installing the Minotaurus ROM along with Nemesis kernel, which is very easy to do and is supported for all the international Galaxy Note 5 models.  To do this, our suggestion is to first buy an international Note 5 (which has much better compatibility than T-Mobile Note 5) with specific model number of SM-N920C.  These models cost around $450, which is very good price also for Note 5 as international models are usually cheaper than U.S. models.   Once you have an SM-N920C, the rest is very easy to do.

Step 1.  First, install TWRP recovery on your Note 5 by following the Note 5 root tutorial here Steps 1 thru 11.  You do not actually need to root your Note 5, simply install TWRP recovery.

Step 2. Download the ROM and kernel to your Note 5.

Download:

Download Minotaurus ROM (Supports models SM-N920C/I/L/G/K/S)

Download Nemesis Kernel

Step 3. Reboot into TWRP, do a factory reset, then install ROM (follow the AROMA graphical installer), install kernel, and reboot.

That’s pretty much it!

This ROM does come with full ROOT, 3 different sound equalizers (Dolby Atmos, Beats Audio, and Viper4Android), customization, and much more so definitely give it a go if you want to enjoy Galaxy Note 7 software features and you should have an awesome phone.
