Want to know how fast the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor is on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4?
Well, I did a full benchmark test using Quadrant, Antutu, and Vellamo. While I thought the Galaxy Note 4 would leave the Galaxy S5 and OnePlus One in the dust, the results are rather surprising.
The Note 4 does a little bit better than others on Quadrant benchmarking while it falls behind OnePlus One in Antutu. Mind you, all of these phones are running 100% stock firmware with no overclocking.
The Galaxy S5 and OnePlus One both possess a predecessor of the 2.7Ghz Qualcomm 805, the 2.5Ghz Qualcomm 801. Of course, the performance difference between the two CPUs are very small, around 10% but shouldn’t Note 4 perform better?
Well, our theory is that since the Note 4 does indeed use a quad-HD screen at 2560×1440 resolution (that’s almost double the amount of pixels), that could be why Note 4 fails to perform better. Also, there’s the TouchWiz bloatware that’s really clogging down everything versus OnePlus One’s CM 11S firmware, which is a modified version of CyanogenMod ROM.
Whatever the case, benchmarks don’t tell everything but if you own a OnePlus One, you should be feeling real good (try the 38R update which was the one used in my video).
