How to Add Kickstand on ANY Smartphone!

In this video tutorial, I show you how to add a kickstand on any smartphone!  This will work on any smartphone with or without a case.  This is probably the BEST way to add a kickstand to your smartphone and also is adjustable so whether you are tall of short or sitting on short or high chair, you will always be able to adjust your smartphone at any angle you please.  I really, really, really love this kickstand that can also double as car phone holder and more.  You can get it here.

How to Shoot Stars w/ Android Smartphone! [Astrophotography]

In today’s tutorial, I will be showing you how to shoot stars with an Android smartphone.   For this to work, you will need an Android smartphone with shutter speed of 20 to 30 seconds.  I do highly recommend the latest LG V40 or Huawei P20 Pro, both which can do up to 30 seconds.  All LG smartphones also can do this such as LG G7, LG V30, LG V20, and LG G6 and I think most Huawei phones can do it also.  Just avoid Samsung for star photography as Samsung Galaxy smartphones are not recommended as maximum shutter speed is only 10 seconds(you will be able to get some stars but not enough). I will be using the LG V40 for this tutorial.

How to Film Professional Videos w/ Android Smartphone! [Part II]

In my first article about How to Film Professional Videos w/ Android Smartphone, we covered the basic of using a tripod, fluid-head, and using the LG V20 manual video mode to get professional quality videos from a smartphone.  In this part II, we go in more depth by taking our smartphone out in the field with the latest LG V40, which has a ton of improvements over the V20.  Of course, you do NOT need an LG V40 but preferably a phone that has good video quality such as the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9/S8, or even Xiaomi Mi8 or Pocophone would work.

Tip 1 – If your smartphone has EIS, TURN IT OFF!

How to Install GSI ROM on ANY Android Device w/ Project Treble & Unlocked Bootloader! [TWRP Method]

For those of you who want to install Project Treble GSI(Generic System Image) ROM on your Android device with unlocked bootloader, you can use TWRP recovery to install them.  The process is actually not entirely different from flashing a regular custom ROM in TWRP, the only difference is that you will be using “Install from image” option instead of the default “Install from zip” option.  (If you don’t know what Project Treble is, please see “What is Project Treble for Android”.

What are GSI ROMs?

How to Clean Smartphone w/o Scratching the Screen!

Cleaning a smartphone’s screen may be one of the simplest daily tasks but do you know how to properly clean your smartphone without scratching the screen?  I asked my Twitter followers the same question and over 50% of the people clean their smartphone with their shirt.   While that seems like the simplest logical answer, you may actually be scratching the screen every time you do this.

DO NOT USE Waterproof Smartphone in Sea Salt Water!

On my recent trip to Hawaii, I broke two of my smartphones while using them in sea salt water to take videos of corals while snorkeling, I broke my Galaxy S9 Plus and my Pixel 2 XL.  In this video, I show you what happens if your smartphone seal breaks in sea salt water and also how to minimize damage from salt water corrosion by disassembling both my S9 Plus and Pixel 2 XL.  I’ve taken all my waterproof phones(with IP67 or IP68 rating) diving in swimming pools and even in 100+ degree temp spa many times but I have NEVER actually broken a smartphone from water until last week.
