LG V40 Review – Hidden Advanced Features!

If there’s one reason to buy the LG V40, LG’s latest flagship, it’s ALL about its 5 cameras, the most cameras on a smartphone to date until Samsung copies and launches the Galaxy S10 next year.  With 3 dedicated rear cameras and 2 front cameras, the LG V40 can give you more camera angles from a single smartphone than any other smartphone on the market.  In this review, I really wanted to focus on its 5 cameras, since the LG V40 is really about the cameras along with its hidden advanced features you probably will never use.

Does OnePlus 6T Work on Verizon & T-Mobile 4G LTE Simultaneously?

Does OnePlus 6T work on Verizon & T-Mobile 4G LTE simultaneously?   When OnePlus 6T was announced with full support for T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network along with support for Verizon, I was really interested if the OnePlus 6T can work on both Verizon & T-Mobile 4G LTE simultaneously.  This is because I have unlimited plan on both T-Mobile & Verizon and I don’t like carrying two phones.  Whenever I drop to dead spots with T-Mobile here in SF Bay Area(which happens quite often), I would switch to my other smartphone with Verizon SIM card.  With the OnePlus 6T, this is going to allow me to carry around just one smartphone and use both networks.

LineageOS 16 ROM for Xiaomi Mi8!

LineageOS 16 ROM for Xiaomi Mi8 is probably the first custom ROM you want to try on your Mi8, especially if you want to run something more closer to stock Android like Pixel 3 with latest Android 9.0 Pie.  Although MIUI isn’t bad, personally I am more used to stock Android experience and I really hate the iPhone-like MIUI launcher.  Also, menus are way different on MIUI and I wanted to run a software that I am more used to.

Pixel 3 Conversion for Galaxy Note 9/S9/S9+!

For those of you who want to convert your Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9, or Galaxy S9+ into a Google Pixel 3, you can now do it by installing the Pixel Experience ROM.  Now, you WILL need an Exynos model, if you have any Snapdragon models(U.S. models like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon), you won’t be able to install this ROM as they have locked bootloaders.(For future reference, please don’t buy Snapdragon models if you want cool mods like this.)

LG V40 Unboxing & First Look!

About a week back, LG invited me to their event in San Francisco for LG V40 unboxing and first look at their latest flagship.  The LG V40 is the world’s first smartphone with 5 cameras(each with a different angle) featuring normal, wide-angle, and 2X telephoto camera on the back along with normal and wide-angle cameras on the front.  We have reached an era where more cameras may help consumers ditch their heavy DSLR/mirrorless cameras.

Android Pie 9.0 for Galaxy S9/S9 Plus! [Pixel Experience GSI ROM]

For those of you who want to try out the latest Android Pie 9.0 for your Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, or any Android device that has unlocked bootloader and Project Treble support, you can grab any of the Android 9.0 GSI(Generic System Image) ROMs and get it now instead of waiting for Samsung to update their TouchWiz, which most likely will take another 3-6 months.  And for those of you in the U.S. with U.S. Snapdragon models, it will be few more months than the international Exynos models as carriers have to re-add their carrier bloatware.  Now, these Android 9.0 GSI ROMs are NOT TouchWiz, they are not Samsung firmware but AOSP ROMs(What is AOSP?).

How to Install GSI ROM on ANY Android Device w/ Project Treble & Unlocked Bootloader! [TWRP Method]

For those of you who want to install Project Treble GSI(Generic System Image) ROM on your Android device with unlocked bootloader, you can use TWRP recovery to install them.  The process is actually not entirely different from flashing a regular custom ROM in TWRP, the only difference is that you will be using “Install from image” option instead of the default “Install from zip” option.  (If you don’t know what Project Treble is, please see “What is Project Treble for Android”.

What are GSI ROMs?
